Meet The Band

Kev (Vocals)
Kev’s taken an unconventional route to being front main of several bands. Having moved from the sound and lighting desk for many years, Kev eventually found a place on the Musical Theatre stage playing roles in High Society, Oklahoma, Summer Holiday (although he has a destain for Cliff Richard he’d like to add!!!) - from this Kev was thrust into a band for a one-off party, and has been fronting bands for 16 years. Kev would always describe himself as a self confessed show off! Give him a stage and a mic and he’ll hold court, crack a few jokes and take you all on a journey. Previous Bands: Hot Meat, The Apprentices, The Honey Riders, Alfies Sister, Kevin & The Kermits and High Voltage

Kim (Bass, Vocals)
Kim picked up his first guitar at the tender age of 17 whilst serving in HM Forces stationed in Germany. It was a Fender Jazz Bass dating back to the early 60's. He joined his first band in the mid 70s known as Misty Blue, he then went on to join Midnite Oasis. Kim has been in many bands over the years including a Sixties Rock & Roll band named Freeway and a WSM based band called The JD Experience. Kim now plays a Dragons Eye Ibanez Bass guitar, and enjoys playing in The Chosen Few with amazing musicians and a great band atmosphere. Musical influences: Status Quo, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Jethro Tull etc up to more recently Myles Kennedy, Daughtry, Shinedown and Disturbed to name but a few. Kim says...”the buzz you get after performing a live set is truly amazing, right now we need more of it....Rock on brothers!”.

Rob (Guitar, Vocals)
Rob joined us in 2025 and has been away from the band scene for 20 years raising kids, forging a public health career and buying better guitars - this is something most guitarists would find familiar! He’s now back with a vengeance and wants to tear out riffs and solos from the rock classics he grew up on. He also dabbles with bass and drums and vocals, but guitar has been his true love since age 13. Rob quite likes a bit of well-placed widdling but believes that feel should be king. Although he has eclectic musical taste it can’t be denied that his home ground is 70s rock (also, he’s not sure the band would appreciate his love of Slayer). Previous bands: Previous bands include The Lost Millions, Nightmares in Wax and Injustice. Influences: Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Soundgarden.

Gareth (Drums, Vocals)
Gareth has been drumming since he had his first kit aged 13 until forming his first band playing covers when he was 16. That band turned into a group playing original music up and down the country. Having journey through a few other groups, the last 12 years were spent playing festival dates and gigs with "Last Chance Heros" after refining his trade in some jam bands. Fast forward to 2025 and Gareth is now one of The Chosen Few and brings a dynamic drum sound to the group along with backing vocals. The cowbell has landed and were delighted to have Gareth with the band!

Dave (Lead Guitar, Vocals)
Dave also known as "Big Dave" started his career in music very late by most people's standards in his early 30's when his wife bought him his first ever guitar. Many months of suffering was endured by his wife as he attempted renditions of his favourite tunes! Dave started to become a very reasonable player and even opened his music shop in Minehead where in-between customers, he worked on honing his skill on the guitar practising every day. Dave hates guitar "widdlers" and in his words he would rather play 10 notes from the heart than 500 with no feeling! After a 16 year break from the guitar and now 65 he is back with a vengeance delivering his kicks and tricks once gain in THE CHOSEN FEW. Previous bands: Sods Law, Breach of The Peace, Cover Up, Vision, Apalache Nation Influences: Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake.

Julie (Keys, effects)
Julie has only been in one other band prior to joining TCF - The Coyote Kings - they were a Bristol based rock/pop outfit. Her musical influences are more country than rock including Dolly, Kenny - and also enjoys a bit of 70s disco.. but she's more than happy to swap the sequins for leather waistcoats in TCF, keeping the band on track and well behaved - well, she tries!
